The following video shows one of the simple experiments done in 2007 that investigated the possibilities of manipulating magnetic fields of permanent magnets. In this configuration it was possible to entirely change geometry of the magnetic field of a single NdFeB magnet (~ 3400 Gauss) by means of relatively simple electronics. Later stages of research went into entirely different direction for a number of reasons and this concept is yet to be thoroughly researched and assessed for its engineering potential.
