This is a short translated excerpt from the article that was originally written in the Croatian language by Zvonimir Rudomino. The article was published in the journal Vizionar (eng. Visionary).
One of the discoveries that raised a lot of dust in the engineering world, certainly was the discovery of “ground radio”. The discovery that the radio signals can be sent and received through a conductive medium such as soil, many of the previous physical models “fell into the water” or at best proved insufficient. The discussion in the engineering community had quickly taken hold, so even the great Nikola Tesla joined the discussion a few months after publishing the article in the March edition of the Electrical Experimenter. From the aspect of satellite communications era it seems all discussions related to this discovery should have ended long ago, but is it really so?–Zvonimir Rudomino, RT17
